When searching  for “real estate” on Google, you will  get 2.2 BILLION page results. With that many results, buyers need to use specific terms to narrow their results, and  to find what they are looking for.  They may use the name of the community they want to live in, or even the development subdivision. Buyers may search for specific features they are looking for in the home or local nearby attractions.  You want to make sure your listings rise to the top of the search results, when this happens.

With Obeo, you can now enter specific “keywords” on your bio page and for each of your listings.  These additional keywords will be added to the generic keywords we have been using  to help increase the SEO for you and your listings.  When you add custom keywords and phrases into your Obeo Members Area, these keywords and phrases will be embedded into your Obeo bio page and your Obeo HomeSite virtual tour.  In addition, Obeo will create a free high definition video for every listing, tag that video with your keywords and phrases, and  export the video to YouTube.  Ta daaaa!  You’ve become an SEO Powerhouse!

In order to get the very most out of this free service Obeo is offering, you must do a little research on your own. You need to find out what the very best keywords and phrases are for you to use.  The Google Ad Words Tool is a free and very effective way to find which keywords and phrases are the best.  You can search for keyword ideas by entering a keyword related to your business,  or a URL to a page containing content related to your business. The tool will show you what search words and phrases consumers are actually using.  Or you can enter what you think is a good keyword or phrase, and the tool will show which phrases and keywords are the most popular.  Remember… there is a lot of competition for the “top” keywords and phrases.  Everybody uses them.  So, you might get better results by choosing more “specific” keywords and phrases, that are used less often by consumers, but are also used by very few other Realtors.  Even though they are not used in as many searches, the consumers that use these phrases are going to be better leads.  For example, instead of using “Denver Real Estate” use “homes on Rolling Hills Golf Course”.

Okay, now that you have your keywords and phrases, you need to tag your Obeo Bio Page and listings!

Here’s how to tag your listings:

  1. Go to http://www.obeo.com/login and login in using your Obeo username and password.
  2. Scroll down to the “Manage Virtual Tours” heading. Select the listing you want to add the keywords to, select “Edit Tour Details”, and then hit the “GO” button.
  3. On the lower left of this “General” page, you will see a new field called “Search Key Words”. Simply type all your keywords and phrases (separate with commas) into this field, click the save button, and your done!

And here’s how to tag your Bio Page:

  1. Go to http://www.obeo.com/login and login in using your Obeo username and password.
  2. In the box at the top that is labeled “Contact Info”, click “Edit Information”.  
  3. At the very top, under the heading “Website Information”,  you will see a new field called “Search Key Words”. Simply type all your keywords and phrases (separate with commas) into this field, click the save button, and your done!
